Editorial Policy

Last updated: October 2026

1. What we publish

mitbbs.ai (华人空间) publishes two kinds of content:

  • Aggregated news — automatically collected from publicly available third-party Chinese-language media. Every aggregated article names its source and links to the original article.
  • Original community content — forum threads, user comments, blogs and data pages written by our team or our users.

2. Sourcing policy

  • We prefer primary sources: government agencies (e.g. USCIS, IRS, U.S. State Department, CDC), courts, company filings and official announcements.
  • Aggregated stories always carry a visible source credit and a link to the original article. We do not claim third-party reporting as our own.
  • Finance, visa, tax and health pages are for informational purposes only and carry not-advice disclaimers with review dates.

3. How AI is used

  • Collection & triage: AI-assisted systems fetch public news feeds, de-duplicate stories, classify them into boards, and draft Chinese-language summaries.
  • Translation: English-language source material is machine-translated into Simplified Chinese before posting.
  • Screening: an automated gatekeeper screens every item before publication (items can be temporarily hidden for review; nothing is silently deleted).
  • Human oversight: the founder/editor-in-chief sets editorial standards and reviews appeals. AI drafts are labeled by the official newsroom account (华人空间新闻); forum posts are written by human users.

4. Corrections

We correct factual errors in our original content as soon as they are verified.

  • Corrections are made transparently: the corrected article shows what changed and when. We do not silently rewrite published facts.
  • For aggregated news, the authoritative record is the original publisher; if a source corrects its story, we update our summary and link.
  • Forum posts are written by users. We do not edit user posts for accuracy, but we remove content that violates our rules (see Disclaimer).

How to report an error

Email admin@mitbbs.ai with the URL of the page with the error, what is wrong and what the correct information is, and a link to a reliable source supporting the correction. We aim to acknowledge reports within 2 business days and publish verified corrections promptly.

Corrections log

No corrections have been published yet. This log will list every correction with the article link, the nature of the error, and the date corrected.

5. Advertising

Paid promotional content is clearly labeled as advertising. Editorial coverage is never sold.
